The FA granted license will see the Lady Glovers continue to feature in the top flight of women’s football for a second season, whilst converting the club from semi-professional to professional.
Having supported YTLFC’s application as much as reasonably possible – which included meetings with the FA, another local club and a strong letter of support to the FA Women’s Board – YTFC is delighted to see Yeovil Town Ladies awarded top flight status.
With YTFC hosting more FA WSL 1 matches for its female counterparts than any other EFL or Premier League club in 2017/18, Yeovil Town looks forward to offering more support to the Ladies in the forthcoming campaign.
Commenting, YTFC Club Chairman John Fry said: “As we know, Yeovil Town Ladies is an independent, privately-owned company with a separate owner and Board of Directors, but Yeovil Town Football Club is proud to support YTLFC and will continue to do so.
“Whilst the last 18 months have been testing for the Ladies both on and off the pitch, the stability of being granted a professional license should allow them to head into their next chapter.
“We will continue to help where we can and look forward to hearing YTLFC’s proposals to move forward positively from here.”
