Maurice, who was 86, had an array of roles and responsibilities at Huish Park before fully retiring in May 2006.
Mr. O’Donnell gave 46 years of service to the club and was at the heart of the Huish Park football family.
He began as a player for both the first team and the reserves, and was part of the coaching team that won the Southern League in 1970/71.
After he hung up his boots, Maurice had seven spells as the Glovers’ caretaker boss, reserve and youth team manager as well as a first-team coach.
He was a regular spectator at Yeovil home matches in his later years and celebrated his diamond wedding anniversary by taking his wife Betty to watch the 2015 FA Cup tie against Manchester United.
Bringing a smile to the face of everyone he encountered around the club, Maurice will be sorely missed.
The thoughts of everyone associated with the club are with Maurice’s loved ones at this sad time.
