Goals from Nestor Shako, Dan Ojo and Harry Haughton sealed a 3-1 victory for the hosts who remain top of the EFL Youth Alliance South West table after four matches.
In an entertaining opening 15 minutes, Town created a host of chances with Lewis Dix and Tyrique Clarke forcing smart saves, before Plymouth almost opened the scoring against the run of play only being denied by the post.
Dominating proceedings Town looked like the only side likely to break the deadlock but had to ride their luck 10 minutes before the break.
Tommy Scott produced three stunning saves in quick succession and was helped out by a clearance on the line as a goalmouth scramble only resulted in a corner and not an opening goal.
Resuming to penning the Pilgrims in their own half, Ojo headed a George Calverley corner just over the bar before the hosts finally took the lead on the stroke of half-time.
Strong running from Clarke resulted in the midfielder playing in Shako who slotted into the bottom right corner to give the young Glovers the lead.
With no let off after the restart, Town soon made it 2-0.
As the hour-mark approached, a deep corner was recycled as Shako fed Ojo, who beat his man before firing in off the post from the angle.
Looking comfortable, the Glovers looked like they could be in for an uncomfortable final quarter-of-an-hour when Argyle grabbed a goal back, but any nerves were soon put to bed.
The two-goal advantage was restored a few minutes later through substitute Haughton who unleashed a pile-driver from 25 yards that flew into the top right corner.
Trailing by two the visitors struggled to threaten Town’s goal again and the hosts saw out the game for a comfortable 3-1 victory to remain top of the table.
