Yeovil Town are delighted to confirm the signing of 17-year old Toby Stephens, on his first professional deal for the next two seasons.
After spending time within the club’s academy, moving up the the Yeovil Town U18’s last season, Stephens now makes his next step in progressing to first team football.
A hard-working midfielder by trade, Stephens will be looking to learn from the experience within the ranks amongst the first team squad.
Speaking to the club’s media team after signing, Stephens said; “I’m very happy, I’ve been coming here a lot watching Yeovil from a young age, and I was delighted to hear the news when it was over the line.
“My Dad was really happy for me, there’s a lot of credit he deserves too.”
Academy Manager Terry Skiverton also spoke on his delight to secure the young midfielder’s signature; “Toby played with the U18’s all last season where he was playing a year up, something he really excelled in.
“He was one of the players, that to the manager and I, stood out. For us, it was a no brainer to give him this opportunity.
“Already, Toby has first team experience, especially in training, so we thought it was right that the next step was to put him on a pro contract.”
Everybody at Yeovil Town wishes Toby all the best during his time in green and white.
