The tricky winger profited from a defensive mix up to slot home in the 27th minute before Olufela Olomola wrapped up proceedings late on.
It was the Glovers’ second win of the season – both at Huish Park – and first clean sheet, something ex-Grimsby Town man Browne was equally pleased with.
“It was massive for us,” he told iFollow Glovers.
“We know we’re going to score goals with our attacking threat so to shut up shop was very key for us.
“Building from the back is key for our momentum. If we get that right, I feel we’ll be unstoppable.”
On his goal Browne added: “The keeper kind of made it easy for me and made up my mind.
“As soon as I got that touch round him I was celebrating. It’s a day I’ve been looking forward to.
“You always visualise your first goal and when you get it, you don’t know what celebration you’re going to do and (emotions) just take over!”
