The former AFC Bournemouth winger came off the bench to net a last-gasp equaliser at Vale Park and ensure a replay.
Short in stature, it was unusually a headed goal for Green who admits he has never scored one before.
“I’ve been waiting for my chance to get my first goal and it came,” he told iFollow Glovers.
“For it to be my first goal, in front of the away fans, get a draw in such a big FA Cup game and take them back to our place was different class.
“I saw the cross coming in, saw their player jump for it, didn’t know where it went and I turned around, saw it right in front of me and just tried to get something on it.
“It ended up being my head and I don’t really score headers because I’m only 5’6! I actually don’t think I’ve ever scored a headed goal so I’m happy to score one for the first time.
“I didn’t know what to do! If you watch the replay back of when I celebrated, I didn’t know where to run – it was brilliant. It was my first goal for the club; hopefully I’ll get many more.”
Green’s leveller means Town face Vale in a replay at Huish Park on Tuesday, December 12th (7.45pm).
The 22-year-old is confident of defeating the Valiants at home and hopes for a top flight side in the third round.
“Everyone just wants someone high from the Premier League,” he said.
“We’re confident going back to our place in the replay and we believe we can win it.”
