Yeovil Town FC has appointed well known Glovers fan Sheridan Robins as their new matchday on pitch presenter.
Robins, who was highly praised when she undertook a similar role previously with Yeovil Town Women is very well known to Glovers fans and has an excellent background in respect of her media and PR work.
Robins will make her debut this Saturday when the Glovers take on Hampton & Richmond Borough FC in the second round of the Buildbase FA Trophy and succeeds long time presenter Dave Linney, who stood down from the role when he signed off as Commercial Manager at the end of 2019.
Commenting Sheridan said “‘I am very excited to be taking on this new role at the club I call home. Yeovil Town is a big part of my life and so to be able to contribute on match day is a great honour. I know I have big shoes to fill as Dave Linney did a fantastic job for so many years. I will miss Dave and hope I can do him proud. I cannot wait to get started on Saturday”.
The club plan to have a number of guest presenters who can carry out the role when Robins is unavailable and well-known local radio presenter Steve Carpenter will be on the mic for the game with Hartlepool on 18 January. The club would also like to thank Steve Haigh who stood in to do the role last Saturday.
Commenting Chief Operating Officer David Mills said, “We were looking for someone with a great passion for the club who also had a good track record of presenting and media skills – Sheridan fits the bill exactly and to also have someone like Steve Carpenter on board too adds quality depth and cover to the role”.
