The Dons lingered outside the top seven for much of the 2015/16 campaign before a late surge led to a 2-0 triumph over Plymouth Argyle in the play-off final.
Town’s recent form has seen them slip to 16th in the table, nine points behind seventh-placed Colchester United with a game in hand, and Way holds the belief his side can climb the division and get themselves back into play-off contention once more.
He told YTFC.net: “This month is going be huge because nine times out of ten it dictates where you’ll end the season.
“It’s quite clear the teams in the higher reaches are more often than not the ones who have more money than everyone else and then there’s one or two that come out of the pack like AFC Wimbledon last year.
“We have to make sure we’re one of the ones that comes out of the pack and we’re only going to do that by picking up wins sooner rather than later.
“That’s not putting pressure on the players because the players are putting pressure on me to say that’s what they want and I have to respect them for that.
“They’re a hungry group, they’re willing to learn and they’re committed to the football club and we’re trying to achieve together.”
He added: “The supporters have been phenomenal since I’ve been manager. They’ve been amazing and fully committed to the football club – I can only appreciate that.
“I was thinking this week what being a Yeovil Town fan represents and our motto is ‘Achieve By Unity’ – I feel we’ve got that.
“At the moment we’re giving everything we can to be successful and they respect that.”
