The Glovers take on their Devonshire neighbours on Monday afternoon, in the club’s penultimate fixture of 2016.
The Town boss is relishing facing the Grecians, a game he admits he would love to be playing in.
“The players and I are excited,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“I don’t miss playing football, but this is one game I’d love to be involved in because of the passion that’s shown from both sets of supporters.
“It won’t be an easy game, but it’ll be exciting and I’d love the fans to turn up in numbers against Exeter because it’ll be value for money.
“Except the Barnet game, we’ve had a lot of recent success at home and I expect the supporters to get fully behind us, show loads of passion and create a good environment for the players to play in.”
Yeovil slipped to the bottom of League Two on Boxing Day last year following a goalless draw with Oxford United.
Twelve months on Way’s side sit in 12th position and continue to strive for the play-offs.
“The club has made a lot of progress since last year,” he said.
“The games against Exeter and Portsmouth are big games and will show what direction we’re going in.”
He added: “They’re a great, amazing group to work with. We tried to create our own culture in pre-season and I feel that has grown stronger.
“We are still happy and still very positive and have to make sure we arrive to play Exeter ready for a battle.”
