The 37-year-old was in the backroom staff when Town suffered back-to-back relegations to Sky Bet League Two, before stepping to become manager and guiding the club to safety last year.
Town have been better defensively this campaign, keeping 11 clean sheets, and despite Way agreeing his side haven’t scored enough goals, the Glovers have netted more times at this stage than in the entirety of the previous three seasons.
“It’s up to me to remain positive and the way I’ve done that is to try and analyse the last three years,” Way told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“We’ve scored the highest amount of goals within the last three years, we’ve paid the least amount of money, we’ve got the least amount of players and we’ve got the highest league position.
“That’s me being honest to where we are right now. We are better off in the last three years in many departments. My job now is to build on that for next year.”
Yeovil head into the weekend’s match against Morecambe off the back of a 4-0 defeat to Luton Town and Way is looking for a positive response from his players.
He said: “When you go into a game off a defeat like that, you’re always looking for bouncebackability and I’ll be looking for that on Saturday.
“We’ve gone through a lot of detail and I think the most important thing is to stay positive.
“It’s important we focus on our performance and we know what it takes in an away performance to come back with points.”
