The promotion-chasing Cumbrians lie in second place in Sky Bet League Two and have lost just once in the league all season.
Town played Carlisle four times last year, drawing three and losing once, and Way anticipates another close encounter.
“I’ve managed against them three times now,” he told YTFC’s YouTube channel.
“We’ve had good games against them and we know exactly what they do.
“The way they play makes them a big a threat – a physical, dominant threat.
“You only have to look at the (Jabo) Ibehre incident (in the FA Cup replay in January), which is probably one of the worst things I’ve seen.
“I think it’s was first time we’ve been called up for discipline but when you get an incident like that, I expect my players to react as they did. We know it’s going to be a physical test.
“I watched them play against Luton and I spoke to Nathan Jones who gave me a good debrief on them.
“We’re looking forward to it. Our preparation has been spot on.”
