A doubt after being substituted early on against Bromley, Murphy did start against Hartlepool.
The hosts began the game on the front foot, with Gime Toure looking bright throughout the early stages.
Toure would have his first shooting chance of the game in the eighth minute as he burst beyond the Yeovil defence but fired just wide of the mark.
Just minutes later, Town would fashion their first shooting opportunity of the afternoon. A fast breakway found Jimmy Smith in space to shoot but the midfielder balooned his effort over the bar.
Toure would continue his bright start in the 12th minute. After some nice footwork, the forward attempted to chip Adam Smith in the Yeovil goal, but to no avail.
As the green and whites struggled to create anything clear-cut, the hosts had a succession of guilt-edge opportunities.
The first fell to Fraser Kerr, after a well worked corner, the defender couldn’t quite connect with the delivery as the ball dropped agonisingly wide.
Just minutes later, Pools captain Ryan Donladson burst down the left-wing and drilled a cross into the path of Luke James but he couldn’t meet the delivery.
As the half came to a close, Yeovil finally began to find routes on goal.
Murphy would have the green and whites best opportunity of the half. The striker spear-headed a Yeovil counter and broke beyond the hosts back-line. However, a heavy touch took the ball away from him and into Ben Killip’s gloves.
After a half of few clear-cut chances, the teams went into the break level.
Just one minute into the second half, Hartlepool would break the deadlock.
After Smith saved an initial effort, the ball bounced around the box, only to be turned in by the ever-dangerous Toure.
The Pools continued to look dangerous after scoring. They would go close in the 54th minute as Peter Kioso’s cross was met by Donaldson in acreas of space, however the wide-man headed over.
Charlie Lee would attempt to grab the game by the scruff of the neck in the 60th minute. A mazy run saw the midfielder skip beyond the Hartlepool en-rushing midfield but he cannot fire on target.
The efforts from distance would continue as Brighton loanee James Tilley fired into the gloves of Killip in the 69th minute.
Frustration would continue for Town as Collins combined with his defensive partner Wilkinson. A cross to the back post was met by the centre half but Wilkinson headed into the side-netting.
Rhys Murphy would level for the Glovers, emphatically firing home from inside the box after James Tilley’s cross.
The hosts would find a winner in the 92nd minute. Jason Kennedy found space at the back-post and fired past Adam Smith to secure all three points for the hosts.
