After putting his injury nightmares behind him, Seth Nana Twumasi is in buoyant mood ahead of the season opener this Saturday at Huish Park.
The Glovers kick off their League One campaign at home to Doncaster and Twumasi is hoping a good pre-season will be rewarded with a starting berth.
“I feel good, last year was my first year and it was tough on me because I was out for a long time injured but I’ve come back this year, it’s my second year, and I look sharp so I feel good in myself and hopefully I’ve impressed the manager and everybody here.
“Having all the injuries was really tough, there was a time when I thought I would never play again but that’s behind me now and I’m looking forward, and I think I’ve done well in pre-season so hopefully I can kick on from there.”
Former Chelsea and Northampton right-back Twumasi scored in the 9-0 win over Dorchester on Monday night, and reveals the squad are positive entering the new season despite suffering relegation during the last campaign.
“Getting relegated was disappointing but that’s in the past as well, we’re here to fight for the team and for the fans and for everyone and hopefully we can go up this year.”
