Yeovil Town are delighted to announce the signing of Jordan Young from Chippenham Town on undisclosed terms.
The 23-year-old signs a two-and-a-half-year deal after an excellent spell with Chippenham, where he netted 14 goals in 38 league appearances, including a double against Havant & Waterlooville to seal a play-off place on the final day of last season.
A versatile forward who is able to play across the forward line, Young will be looking to pick up where he left off, having scored three goals in his final four games for The Bluebirds.
Starting his career with Swindon Town, Young is already familiar with manager Mark Cooper, who was the first manager to name him in a professional match day squad as a teenager. He scored his first Swindon goal later that season against Shrewsbury Town at the County Ground.
Now looking to kick on with the Glovers, Young signs in Somerset and returns to full-time football.
Commenting after his signature was secured, the former Swindon man said, “It’s an absolute privilege to be here. I’ve had a bit of interest in me, I spoke to the Gaffer and it went from there.
“Yeovil are a massive club and when the Gaffer spoke to me, I knew it was the right thing to do.
“I can’t wait until Saturday, whether I make my debut or not, I’m really looking forward to it!”
Subject to FA & National League clearance, Young will be involved with the squad that travels to Bromley.
Welcome to Huish Park, Jordan!
