Yeovil Town are delighted to announce the signing of Jamie Andrews on loan from West Bromwich Albion.
The 20-year-old central midfielder signs on a short-term loan from the Baggies and becomes Mark Cooper’s first addition as Yeovil Town manager.
Looking to add some creative flair to the Glovers’ midfield, the left-footed midfielder has four assists already this season for West Brom’s Under-21 side in the Premier League 2, also scoring twice.
Last season, the youngster, who stands at 6-foot-1, enjoyed a short spell with Leamington in the National League North, whilst also starring in the PL2 for the Baggies. Most notably, he was a key part of the West Brom side which won the Premier League cup last season. He netted four times in the competition and stepped up in the final, scoring in the penalty shootout as Albion beat Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Jamie now takes the no.18 shirt and goes into the squad for tomorrow’s game against Woking, subject to FA clearance.
Speaking after his signature was confirmed, Andrews said; “It feels great to be here. I wanted to come and experience playing in front of the fans and grafting to get those three points, I just can’t wait to get started.
“The manager and I had a few good conversations where he said what my role would be. He wants me to come in and add some more legs, something which I’m happy to do; I’ll run up and down the pitch all day.
“The move interested me a lot, so I couldn’t wait to get down here as quickly as possible.”
Welcome to Somerset, Jamie.
