Yeovil Town are delighted to confirm that Dion Pereira has joined on a short-term loan deal from Luton Town.
The 22-year-old winger signs to boost Darren Sarll’s attacking options. Pereira is a familiar face to Sarll, having briefly worked together whilst at Watford.
A tricky wide-man by trade, Pereira has had a unique journey in the game so far. The Watford native spent his formative years in football within the Hornets’ academy, progressing to the first team and playing twice in the Premier League.
In 2019, at just 19-years-old, Pereira ventured stateside to sign for Atlanta United in Major League Soccer. He made 21 appearances in all competitions as the Five Stripes won the US Open Cup.
Pereira spent just one year in Atlanta before returning to home pastures to join Nathan Jones’ Luton Town. During 2020/21 the winger became a key figure in the Hatters U23’s side and made one Championship appearance against Queens Park Rangers.
Now stepping into the mens game for an extended period, Pereira will be looking to follow the success of Josh Neufville, who enjoyed a terrific loan spell from Luton last season.
Welcome to Somerset, Dion.
