Yeovil Town are delighted to announce the signing of Ben Barclay on a one-month loan deal from Stockport County, subject to clearance.
Defender Barclay signs as Yeovil have reduced numbers at the back, offering a significant boost to the rear-guard.
Speaking to ytfc.net, our latest addition said; “It’s all happened relatively quickly, I spoke to the manager a few days ago, he showed interest and I was open to coming out on loan and playing some football. I got here yesterday and I’m ready to go today.
“I’ve seen that the club has done well during the start of the season, obviously there’s been a little bit of a blip recently, but I want us to get back on track and climb back up the table.”
The 25-year-old started his career in Manchester City’s academy but ventured south in 2013, signing for Brighton & Hove Albion.
Barclay did not make senior app for the Seagulls but did spent time on loan at Notts County during the 18/19 season.
In 2019, Barclay was then snapped up by League One side Accrington Stanley, where he made 36 apps in a two-season spell at the Wham Stadium.
Following his release from Stanley, Barclay signed for Stockport and has made 12 apps in all competitions so far this season.
Welcome to Somerset, Ben.
