Yeovil Town are delighted to announce the signing of Anthony Georgiou on loan from Leyton Orient on a short-term deal.
An exciting wide-man, Georgiou started his career in the Tottenham Hotspur academy, where he made one competitive appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
Much of his time at Tottenham was spent on loan, firstly in Spain with Levante, followed by Ipswich Town & Bolton Wanderers in the Football League.
A full Cyprus international, the midfielder made his debut in 2018 against Montenegro and has played 8 times for his country.
After leaving Tottenham, he signed permanently in Cyprus for AEK Limassol, where he played 15 times in the 2021/22 season, scoring twice.
Having joined Leyton Orient after a successful trial in the Summer, Georgiou now ventures to Huish Park on a loan deal and is available for tomorrow’s game against Maidenhead United.
Commenting on the move, the former Spurs man said; “I’m happy to be here and excited to get going.
“The Club got in contact and the gaffer (Mark Cooper) was really positive. That’s really important for a player, to feel like you’re wanted somewhere.”
Welcome to Somerset, Anthony.
