However, Tom Eastman levelled it up with 15 minutes left and forced Town to settle for a share of the spoils. 

With results elsewhere meaning the two-point gap to safety failed to alter, Marmon took the positives from his side’s approach to the match. 

I thought with their red card we lost our rhythm a bit. I said to the boys, they should have kept that rhythm going and keep going forward.

“We did serve up some half chances after our goal, but we didn’t really have a forceful one at the end.

“It was a bit nervy still. It’s obvious that when you’re down at the bottom it’s not easy. But I saw a different character today and in the last couple of weeks. It started last week and kicked in a bit. But I was proud of them and I thought they did well.”

The Glovers now head to Northampton on Saturday for the penultimate clash of the campaign. 

Desperate to lift themselves out of the relegation zone, Marmon thanked the supporters for their constant backing of the side.

“I can’t praise them enough and I can only thank them for their continued support.

“They’re with us and I think there’s a lot of hope now.”
