The journey across the border to Gloucestershire is Town’s second shortest away game of the season and will see two sides desperate to collect three points for differing reasons.
The hosts at the New Lawn are winless in three as their bid for a play-off spot took a dent, whilst Darren Way’s side will be looking to end a run of five straight defeats and edge away from the bottom two.
With both teams looking to rediscover their winning form, the green and whites will be boosted by the return of Craig Alcock from suspension.
With Tom James still serving a four-match ban, the unorthodox duo of Matt Worthington and Rhys Browne had to fill in at full-back on Tuesday night with Chelsea loanee Josh Grant (ankle) also still absent.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, Town’s boss confirmed Omar Sowunmi (ankle) is back in training and could be considered for selection whilst Gary Warren (hamstring) and Sessi D’Almeida (shoulder) have had scans and seen a specialist respectively.
For Rovers, they could welcome back goal-scoring midfielder Dayle Grubb following injury, with former Glovers Liam Shephard and Reuben Reid likely to feature for the hosts.
Head-to-head
Saturday will be just the fifth meeting between the two sides since both entered the EFL.
Town are still looking for a first league win over the Gloucestershire outfit with only a Checkatrade Trophy victory to boast.
In the reverse fixture in December, the Glovers squandered a 1-0 lead against 10-man Forest Green to lost out 2-1 whilst last season’s visit to the New Lawn saw a 3-1 lead slide into a 4-3 defeat in a breathless affair.
Officials
Ben Toner will be the man in the middle this weekend.
His 28th game of the campaign, it will be his first involving the Glovers since overseeing the 4-0 defeat at Carlisle United where Bevis Mugabi was also dismissed.
Mr Toner will be supported by Ian Dudley and Danny Gratton with Craig Taylor acting as fourth official.
