The versatile defender played all but 45 minutes of Town’s Checkatrade campaign, in which Darren Way’s side reached the semi-final stage.
Netting in the win against Plymouth Argyle, James was also part of a solid backline which recorded back-to-back clean sheets against AFC Wimbledon and Forest Green Rovers in the knockout stages.
The 21-year-old is one of only three Sky Bet League Two players to make the team, with the other two both representing eventual winners Lincoln City.
