Yoann Arquin and Omar Sowunmi both went close to breaking the deadlock against the Latics but after Dan Gardner hit the post for the visitors, the green and whites had to settle for a point.
Now unbeaten in their last three league outings, Way is urging supporters to continue backing their side.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “I thought in the first 20 minutes we looked a real threat and I think they struggled to get out of their half. We had some real good clear-cut chances, and sometimes it doesn’t go your way.
“Having said that, I feel the players and the supporters have got a real positivity and if could ask for one thing from supporters, it’s that we keep sharing that shared vision together and that’s got to outweigh any negativity.
“I could come out here and talk about negatives of the game but I feel we’ve got something at the moment and it’s important positivity outweighs anyone else’s negativity.”
Taking a point from the meeting with Frankie Bunn’s side, the Glovers next lineup against Stevenage at Huish Park on Saturday.
With another point on the board, Town’s boss sees plenty of positives to take forward.
“I just feel that when you look at their team, I have to respect that they’ve got some good players. Ishmael Miller played for us in the Championship and he’s got a wealth of experience and Chris O’Grady up top can cause some real problems.
“My team is still growing. So to do it for 90 minutes, I think that will come. If you go 1-0 up, that changes the dynamics of the game and the way that they play.
“They were quite brave leaving four up at times. Unfortunately, we didn’t come out as winners. Having said that, there are so many positives to take.”
