Town travel to Rodney Parade on Saturday (3pm) looking to build on last week’s 3-2 victory at Chesterfield.
Defeat at home to Colchester United sandwiches the two away trips, with the Glovers boss confirming the players’ excitement for the short trip to Wales.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “It was good to get that win against Chesterfield which takes that negativity away from the players because we’d been getting closer every week (to an away win).
“The performance against Chesterfield was very, very good and if we can carry that on away from home it should be a good day.
“Preparation this week has been very good and the players are excited about this game.”
However, the Exiles are unbeaten at home this season and sit just three points outside the top seven.
Preparing to end Newport’s near-perfect start to the campaign in Wales, Way is wary of their physical threat.
“They’re a very, very physical team and they’ve scored 57% of their goals from set plays.
“The long throws of Ben Tozer must be going 40 yards, so we have to make sure we’re ready for that challenge.
Way added: “Our body language and approach has got to be aggressive and you’ve got to be able to handle physical contact.
It’s not far, so we’ll have pre-match this side of the bridge and make our way over. We should have a good crowd so we’ll do all we can for them.”
Tickets for the trip to Rodney Parade remain on sale, with information available on our Away Ticket page.
