With Boro undefeated before the trip to Somerset, the Glovers produced a convincing performance to record their second win of the season.
First-half strikes from Alex Fisher and Sessi D’Almeida secured all three points for Town who haven’t lost in their last four Sky Bet League Two outings.
Also recording a third consecutive clean sheet, Way is targeting no letup in form from his side.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “I spoke to one of their players, who is very experienced, and those were his words: ‘You’ve got a fantastic team there’. So we need to make sure that we keep that momentum going.
“Everyone at the moment is playing for the shirt and playing for the football club, and that’s big. I’ve come into the dressing room, and it’s probably the first time as a manager where I’ve clapped the team.
It’s nice to see the supporters getting behind their team because I think they see something a little bit special.”
With the loan window closing on Friday, Town’s boss also confirmed that he is close to adding to the ranks.
“We are very close. In fact, he was watching the game. There’s no name until we get the paperwork through, just because there has to be a level of professionalism.”
