After three entertaining pre-season friendlies at Huish Park the Glovers return to Somerset to host the Stags in Sky Bet League Two.
Finishing pre-season at home with a 5-1 demolition of League One outfit Plymouth Argyle, Way is hoping his side can continue their entertaining displays.
With the club’s first three points of the season up for grabs, he told iFollow Glovers: “We had a few home games in pre-season which I thought went particularly well.
“To play in front of our home supporters with the squad we’ve got this year, I’m quite excited.
“We’ve had a good week of training and our sole focus has been on preparing for the Mansfield match.”
The league clash will see attacker Otis Khan return to Huish Park for the first time since departing for an undisclosed fee in the summer.
Making 87 appearances for the green and whites, Way is aware of the 22-year-old’s threat, along with his new team-mates.
“We know we’re up against Otis so we know everything about him,” he said. “They’ve signed a few, Davies is a fantastic player, the boy Walker up front and Preston at the back who with Pearce can be very, very aggressive and physical at times.
“I know David (Flitcroft) and I know Ben Futcher the assistant manager so we know a lot about Mansfield but it’s more about what we’ve done in pre-season and bringing it back to Huish Park and making sure our performance levels merit three points.”
