Visiting South Wales last weekend, Darren Way’s side ran riot putting six goals past Newport County to claim their biggest ever win in the EFL and will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches.
With six consecutive cleansheets to match the unbeaten run, it’s now 553 minutes since Nathan Baxter last conceded a goal, with another shutout on Saturday seeing the club match its best cleansheet record in 22 years.
Adding to the positives from a week ago, Town were boosted by the return of Rhys Browne from a hamstring injury, with the winger included in the squad for the first time this season.
However, the green and whites will still be without Stuart Nelson (calf), James Bailey (knee), Francois Zoko (knee) and Tom James (hip flexor), with further doubt over Wes McDonald whose return from a spell on the sideline remains delayed.
Claiming a 2-0 victory against a then unbeaten Stevenage in the last league outing at Huish Park, the hosts will be looking to continue their fine form and mantain their unbeaten home record.
Phil Brown’s side have had a decent start to the season so far losing only twice, making the short trip to Somerset off the back off a 1-0 victory at Morecambe in their last away match.
Former Town loanee Sid Nelson could feature against his former side having played the full 90 minutes in each of the last five matches for the Robins.
Head-to-head
This will be the 18th encounter between the two sides with Swindon boasting the better record with eight victories to the Glovers five.
Town fell to a 2-1 home defeat last season despite taking an early lead and drew 2-2 on their visit to the County Ground in April courtesy of Alex Fisher’s stoppage-time equaliser.
A win for the hosts would be only the second time that the Glovers have claimed victory against Swindon at Huish Park, the only victory to date was a 1-0 win in March 2009 when Jon Obika netted.
Officials
Matthew Donohue will be the man in the middle on Saturday.
In his debut season as an EFL official, Mr Donohue has officiated five league matches awarding 22 yellow and one red card.
He’ll be assisted by Ben Cobb and Ron Ganfield with Savvas Yianni acting as fourth official.
