The Glovers lost for the first time in eight matches, a run which saw Yeovil flirt with the Sky Bet League Two play-offs.
Darren Way’s side head to Brunton Park to take on promotion-chasing Carlisle United tomorrow (3pm) and Lawless feels the Cumbrians will be under more strain to get a result.
“We’ve had a good run and our confidence is up from that,” he told YTFC’s YouTube channel.
“We’re not going to let the result (against Barnet) disturb that because there’s a bigger picture.
“They’ll be more under pressure and the only pressure we’ll have is on ourselves and that’s been quite healthy this season.
“It’s one of those where it’s who is up for the battle the most.”
Lawless joined Yeovil in the summer and has made 22 appearances for the Glovers in all competitions.
The midfielder has played a large part in the club’s recent good form and has only suffered one loss in his last nine appearances.
“(I’m enjoying the season) very, very much,” he said.
“Obviously the results help that but as a team the spirit is really good so I’m enjoying that side of it and I’m enjoying playing a new position.
“We have our own aims that we want to get out of them and they are high.
“I think from the way we’ve been playing and the teams we’ve been coming up against, there’s no reason why our expectations shouldn’t be high.”
