Hey everyone! I want to start off this blog by saying how much respect I have for every single YTFC fan that made the long trip to Sheffield United last night.
For a Tuesday night, the support we have is phenomenal. I really wish I could have made the match but unfortunately it just was not feasible.
However, my dad and sister went to the match and I got a detailed match report after the game. One of the first things they said was “Joe played really well”, I cannot imagine why that was relevant.
It sounded like once again we matched them in terms of play but just could not grab that crucial goal and made some errors having missed chances.
I feel for the lads after what was such a good overall performance on Saturday. I thought we actually did enough to secure the three points, but of course a certain Andy Williams was on hand to secure a point for Swindon.
We may be under that dreaded dotted line but our performances are improving. However, it has made Saturday’s game against Rochdale MASSIVE.
Another atmosphere at Huish Park like last week will definitely spur the lads on, I loved the crowd getting behind the team and appreciating the football we had witnessed even though we didn’t manage to win the game.
As for the Premier League, it has been another brilliant week with some unbelievable results. Southampton hammering Sunderland 8-0 has to be the highlight, despite losing so many players the Saints are marching on like nothing has happened…amazing.
The Liverpool and QPR game was just as exciting! The Champions League side managed to scrape a 3-2 win at Loftus Road.
I felt so sorry for QPR, just as they had got back in to it, Liverpool broke away and poor old former Yeovil player Steven Caulker was credited with the winner.
I felt like I was watching Yeovil Town last year, heartbreaking! One of my hunches this campaign is that Chelsea could very well finish the whole season unbeaten. Last night they thrashed Slovenian Champions Maribor 6-0.
They have an enviable squad and even without the prolific Diego Costa they scored six goals, they seem invincible! What’s the betting that they get beat by Manchester United at the weekend now?
Goal of The Week
There were so many goals to choose from this week, but Monday nights 2-2 draw between West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United was a match filled with special finishes. I had to choose just one and for me it had to be the opener. Stephane Sessegnon sent the West Brom crowd wild with this quality goal.

So, it is back to Huish Park on Saturday and these tough times are the ones where the lads need us the most and we can match anyone on our own patch, as we showed last week! It is a huge game where we really need three points, so let’s all do our part and get behind the green and whites.
See you there…until next week!
