Returning to Somerset empty-handed following trips to Stevenage and Cheltenham, Darren Way’s side will look for their luck to turn this weekend.
The green and whites have had four goals ruled out in the last two matches to inflict consecutive 1-0 defeats but will hope the three new strikers in line to make their home debuts can break the habit.
Ryan Seager, Courtney Duffus and Tristan Abrahams have featured in the last two matchday squads after arriving late in January but are all available to make their first appearances on home soil.
Returning to the club at the start of the month, defender Craig Alcock is also likely to make his first outing at Huish Park since re-joining the club in what would be his 124th appearance in green and white across the two spells.
Certain to not be involved at the weekend will be Tom James who’ll serve the first of a four-match suspension after being sent off on Tuesday night.
The defender will join Omar Sowunmi (ankle), Sessi D’Almeida (shoulder) and Josh Grant (ankle) on the sidelines, with Alex Pattison (back) close to a return for the visit of the Mariners who head south in good form.
Victors in their last two outings, Michael Jolley’s side have halted a disappointing run which saw them winless from their previous five matches.
Head-to-head
Saturday will be the eighth encounter between the two sides since 2004 with both sides looking to edge ahead in the head-to-head record.
With three victories each, Town will be looking for a third straight win over the Mariners.
Omari Patrick’s debut goal in the reverse fixture secured a 1-0 win, whilst in the fixture at Huish Park last season goals from Lewis Wing, Rhys Browne and Jake Gray confirmed a comfortable 3-0 victory.
Officials
Charles Breakspear will be the man in the middle on Saturday.
His 34th game of the campaign it’ll be his second involving the green and whites having overseen the 0-0 draw with Stevenage before the turn of the year.
In Somerset he’ll be assisted by Christopher Wade and Justin Amey with Samuel Ogles acting as fourth official.
