Hey everyone, hope you have all had a good week.
I can’t believe it is already time for another Shez She – Talks, how is it October already?
Unfortunately, it has not been the best week to be a Yeovil Town fan after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to MK Dons.
I have had a lot of stick over the week, but I am just waiting for the last game of the season where we will put things right against them. The game was very edgy and there were lots of tackles flying in and I think we were unlucky to be the only side that ended the game with 10 men.
Ben Nugent has been brilliant for us so far this season, so he will be a big loss. Incidents like that change games and I think sometimes you have to put the 90 minutes behind you and start again.
Hopefully that is what the boys and the gaffer have done all this week ready for Saturday’s big game at Port Vale.
As for the rest of the football world, last night saw the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy continue. There were some great games, particularly at Stadium:MK. Our last opponents went down 3-2 to Wimbledon and due to the massive rivalry the two have Wimbledon fans will remember that victory for a very long time.
Plymouth Argyle have had a good start in League 2 and sit just outside the play-offs and they continued this form against Swindon Town. Town are looking very strong in League 1 so it was an impressive win. Argyle raced in to a 3-0 lead before the break before fighting off Swindon who scored two goals late on. They managed to hold on and take their place in the next round.
As for the Premier League, it was once again a great spectacle. Manchester United propelled themselves in to the top four for the first time in a year with a 2-1 victory over a disappointing Everton.
The two top Championship teams from last season met at the King Power Stadium in the top flight on Saturday and I am sure no one anticipated it to be such a good game.
Burnley secured an extremely important point away from home in stoppage time. The entertaining 2-2 draw means that Leicester are still unbeaten at home this season and are sitting pretty in 9th. What a great start from last year’s Championship winners.
Burnley look set to struggle but a late equaliser will give them some hope and they will be enjoying their time in the top flight. They remind me of Little Old Yeovil in the Championship…who remembers the celebrations when we equalised in the last minute against Wigan? No one can take those memories away from us football fans.
Goal of the week
It was once again very difficult to choose just one goal but I am really enjoying watching Angel Di Maria play in the Premier League this season and he proved his worth with this brilliant finish! No one can write off Manchester United just yet.

Next up is a trip to Port Vale for the Glovers. With Vale struggling in the League too, three points is a must as we look to pull away from danger. Our amazing away support will no doubt spur the lads on.
You heard it here first; I am backing my favourite Joe Edwards to score this weekend. He last slotted home in a crucial win over Watford last season and this seems just as important, he picks his moments well.
