After a difficult trip to Oldham earlier this week, the manager knows what is needed this weekend when his side make the short trip to Forest Green Rovers.
He said: “Me being me, I’ve got absolutely no problem as far as motivating players goes. At the moment what we’ve got to try and do is to execute the game plan for 90 plus minutes, so the players don’t lose their concentration and focus.
Tuesday wasn’t a 4-1 game, but a lapse in concentration lead to mistakes and with those mistakes you get punished at this level.”
Town have been plagued by injury problems to key players throughout this campaign, but Way had positive team news for iFollow Glovers this week.
“Omar (Sowumni) is back training now which is great, we’ve just got to decide whether we put him in the squad on Saturday.”
Speaking on the towering defender’s importance to the team and how things have changed since his injury in October, Way added: “I’ve got to be honest, that’s when our fortunes changed this season.
“Omar’s been a big miss and it will be nice to have him back because he’s great around the dressing room, he’s someone that’s been here a long time. He’s the heart and soul, I think, and the future of the football club, so he’s got a massive part to play.”
Heading into the final third of the season, Forest Green will come into this weekend’s game as favourites, a scenario the Yeovil boss is all too familiar with.
“As with any game that we play, no-one really thought we were going to go to Mansfield and get anything and I thought the players were fantastic.
“We’ve had some good discussions after the game on Tuesday and we’re looking for a performance on Saturday.”
