Asked to help #SpreadSomeJoyWithACuddlyToy, supporters at Tuesday night’s Emirates FA Cup replay against Port Vale were encouraged to bring along a soft toy as a gesture for the children who will spend the festive period at YDH.
The response was overwhelming with several hundred cuddly toys handed over to the Jolly Green Giant at half-time, with Port Vale taking a pile back to Stoke-on-Trent for their own hospital visit next week.
Manager Darren Way and the squad of players will deliver their cuddly toys on Tuesday December 19th during the annual visit, with a further donation being made to St Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil.
The idea came to light after Yeovil supporters highlighted a similar initiative in a Belgian league match earlier this month.
YTFC would like to thank all those who donated a cuddly toy and supported the idea.
