The Cheltenham-born striker returns to the West Country and signs a two-and-a-half year deal at Huish Park to become a Glover until at least June 2021.
Part of the Robins’ Academy setup as a youngster, Duffus was snapped up by Premier League outfit Everton after impressing on trial alongside brother, Tyrone.
Progressing through the youth ranks a first taste of EFL action was provided with a loan spell at Bury in 2014 before signing a two-year contract at Goodison Park at the end of the season.
Helping the Under-23s win the Premier League 2 title in 2016/17, Duffus was rewarded with a one-year contract extension before shortly after moving to Oldham Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
Appearing in Sky Bet League One for the Latics, he joined League of Ireland Premier Division side Waterford on loan in February 2018, scoring 10 goals in 25 appearances.
Leaving his mark on the division the striker’s signature has been chased by a number of Irish clubs but Town have secured Duffus’ long-term future.
Securing the services of the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, manager Darren Way told YTFC.net: “Courtney has been on my radar for a long time. With the links that we had at Everton that at the time saw Shane Duffy, John Lundstram and Liam Walsh arrive, Courtney was a target on the same list.
“With his attributes and the way he plays, I’m sure he can become a fans’ favourite and a very successful signing at this football club.”
