Signing on a two-and-a-half year deal from Town’s Sky Bet League Two rivals, the 23-year-old heads back down south after spells up north and in Ireland.
Snapped up by Everton in 2012 he had a spell on loan at Bury before a move to join the Latics resulted in a prolific stint in Ireland with Waterford.
Now returning closer to his roots, Duffus told iFollow Glovers: “It was always my ambition to come back south. It’s something I always wanted to do, play down here. It feels a lot closer to home with more family and friends around.
“It’s been a hard 6-7 years away from everyone, especially hard when you’re up on your own and not playing and enjoying football, so I’ll be a lot happier down here.
“I can’t wait to get back out on the pitch and training with the boys.”
A long-term target of manager Darren Way, the 6’2″ striker will finally ply his trade at Huish Park.
One of numerous players in recent years with Everton links, Duffus admits to speaking to close friend and former loanee Liam Walsh.
“Me and Liam get on well and I know he did very well when he came here and he had nothing but good things to say about his time here.
“I know a lot more from being here all day than I did previously and can’t wait to get going.
“I need to get my fitness levels back as it’s been a while since I played, but I can’t wait to hit the ground running.”
