The Norwich City striker was due to spend the remainder of the season across the border in Devon with Exeter City, but made the short switch to Somerset on deadline day of the January transfer window.
With fellow Canaries striker Jaiyesimi spending the first months of the campaign at Huish Park before suffering a season-ending knee injury, his praise of the club was more than enough to convince the 20-year-old.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: I’m extremely pleased to come to such a big club. I’ve come down here to learn a little bit more, play football and there’s a lot of good players here I can learn from so it wasn’t a hard decision.
“I spoke to DJ and he said a lot of good things about the club. When he spoke he spoke highly of the club and his experiences, so for me it was an easy decision.
“I Thought I wasn’t playing as much as I should be – or perhaps shouldn’t have been – but I always want to play football and I see this as a good opportunity to do that so I came down here and I’m hoping to push on now.”
Spending the first half of the campaign at St James Park, Abrahams made 23 appearances scoring twice.
Hoping to have the same impact as Canaries team-mate Jaiyesimi, the Londoner commented: “I can’t wait to put the shirt on – I just tried it on and it was a good feeling so I’m excited for the weekend.
“I set myself targets but I think a good performance is always better than a goal really. I always want to score but if I can do the best I can for the team and help others score, that’s always as good for me as well.
“It’s not a surprise what I’m coming in to and I know what I’ve got to do. Obviously, being young I’m still learning but I have got a rough idea of what I need to do and an understanding of the game and how it is here.”
