The 19-year-old was in fine form to keep the Cumbrians at bay last weekend before Tom James’stoppage-time strike earnt all three points.
Victory saw the Glovers pick up three points for the first time in eight matches in a run which had seen four draws and three defeats.
Now back to winning ways and four unbeaten, Baxter is ready to repeat the club’s early season form which saw them go six matches unbeaten.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers he said: “You could see around the Town when went on that great run people seemed to be getting behind the team again and were proud of the team, so for sure we want to get that going again.
“All the staff, the gaffer, Terry (Skiverton), PT (Paul Terry) are preparing us really well and they do everything they can to ensure we can go out and perform on the pitch.
“We take each game as it comes but we believe we can beat every team – we know we can. We’ve gone to Newport and beaten them comfortably and they’re fourth (in the table), so we’re confident.”
Entering November, Baxter has played every minute of Town’s season to date.
On a season-long loan from Chelsea, the keeper is loving his time in Somerset whilst relishing competition for places.
“I’m loving it,” he said. “I love living down here, love playing and it’s just a great club to be at. It’s a real family club and I think I have a really great relationship with the supporters. I want to keep building on that and hopefully, have a successful season.
“No one in the place is comfortable in their starting position because we’ve got so many good players.
“There’s a challenge in every position so I’ll continue to go about my job quietly and help the team. If I do my job and the team wins then that can only reflect well on me so I’ll continue to take each game as it comes.”
