Yeovil Town are delighted to complete the signing of defender Josh Staunton.
Signing on a free transfer from fellow National League side Halifax Town, Staunton becomes Darren Sarll’s first addition of the 2020/21 season as preparations begin to ramp up.
Starting his career within the youth ranks at Gillingham, the top tier of non-league football is where Staunton has made his name, playing for both Dagenham and Redbridge and Woking before joining Halifax in 2018.
Last season, Staunton was an ever-present for Halifax, taking part in every game for Pete Wild’s Shaymen.
Now moving to Somerset, the 24-year old is raring to go for the season ahead: “I’m really excited. It’s been a long time without real football, getting back in amongst a dressing room and getting ready for the season, it can’t come soon enough!
“It will be really nice to have fans back in the stadiums too, I know playing here, it was a good atmosphere, I look forward to it being on my side rather than against me!”
All at Yeovil Town welcome Josh to the club and wish him all the best during his time in Somerset.
