The 19-year-old came on at half-time in Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Huish Park, and showed Town supporters a glimpse of what’s to come during his loan spell from Southampton.
In the 76th minute, Olomola picked the ball up and sauntered downfield before sending a sublime 25-yard strike past the helpless dive of former England under-21 goalkeeper Frank Fielding.
Over 1,800 Glovers witnessed the stunning effort and the young forward can’t wait to be on the scoresheet again.
“I really did enjoy it,” he told YTFC’s iFollow.
“It was good to be out there in front of the fans and I’m happy I showed them what I can do.
“Hopefully they’ve seen I want to work hard for the team, use my pace to get in behind and excite them.”
He continued: “I’m happy to get my first goal for Yeovil – hopefully it’s the first of many.
“I had runners in front of me and they just took the defenders away. I saw space, drove into it and then hit it with my left foot and luckily it went in!
“I’m really looking forward to the season now. It’s my first real experience of first-team football and I can’t wait to work hard and get some goals for Yeovil.”
Olomola partnered experienced forward Francois Zoko in a two-man attack for 25 minutes on the weekend.
Former Carlisle United man Zoko has played over 290 senior games in England, scoring 71 goals and Olomola insists he will tap into his knowledge.
“He’s got great experience,” he said.
“In training I’ve already noticed his first touch, movement and his great finishing.
“I’m trying to learn off him every day and hopefully some of his good attributes will rub off on my game.”
