Hi everyone.
I really wish I was writing this fresh from gaining another three points but unfortunately Saturday did not quite go to plan. It was a strange game and I think the red card really affected us. I find it hard to take when a big decision like that affects a competitive match and I thought we at least deserved a point from the game. However, we are still in the bottom four and have to get over the disappointment and move on.
I thought Tom Eaves really impressed on his debut and I am sure he will score goals for us. I loved his movement and commitment to the team; he did not give up and ran his heart out, good things to come from him I’m sure.
In other football news, Mario Balotelli has been in the headlines once again and for all the wrong reasons. He is to be investigated by the FA following a post on social media.
He denies any racist or anti semitic references were intended but I find it so frustrating how a clearly talented footballer has made a move back to England but been in the news for everything but good performances on the pitch. Social media is brilliant but also very dangerous.
When you are in the public eye, you are always being watched so hopefully he has learnt his lesson. I am sure Liverpool fans would prefer posts from him about the matches he is playing rather than anything else.
I love reading the Yeovil players tweets after a match; it brings the fans and the players together.
Also this week, can you believe Jimmy Bullard was the first celebrity to be voted out of the jungle? I have loved this year’s “I’m a Celebrity”, and the former footballer has been the most entertaining of the lot! Maybe not everyone enjoyed his constant “banter.”
If you saw Joe Edwards tweet after the show, he is going to get on at Gary to sign him up now he is out. How brilliant would that be? The question is: could our boys handle the banter?
As for results on the pitch, in the Premier League all the top teams got positive results. Arsenal sealed a hard fought win against West Bromwich Albion thanks to Danny Welbeck’s header.
I am so pleased he is doing well for the Gunners, but some fans were protesting against Wenger. Arsenal have had a disappointing start, but is the grass always greener?
I just don’t know who could replace him at the helm and get them winning the Premier League.
Manchester United also look to be back on track after a 3 – 0 win against Hull City. A clean sheet is huge for them and the fact that the win was convincing and at home, following their first away win at Arsenal, will give United fans a lot of belief – don’t write them off just yet.
The stand out result of the weekend for me though was Brentford’s 4 – 0 thumping of Wolves. Wolves have fallen away having lost the last four matches, whilst Brentford have won the last five. They now sit 3rd in the table – quite unbelievable.
Goal of the week
This may not be a goal scored this week, but with all the outrage of Mr Bullard being voted out of the jungle, I thought we could remind ourselves of his great career. This goal is a beauty against Arsenal and who could forget his celebration against Manchester City after Phil Brown sat them all down on the pitch at half time? Football at its best!

As for Yeovil Town, we can once again forget the fact that we are in the bottom four of League One as we head to Accrington in the cup. I can’t wait to visit a new ground and create a fantastic cup match atmosphere.
A win would put us in the third round and potentially get us a draw against one of the big boys – what a blog I could write then! See you at Accrington and always keep believing!
