We are delighted to announce the signing of former Forest Green Rovers captain, Dom Bernard, who joins us on a one-year deal.
The 27-year-old defender has been without a club since leaving Forest Green Rovers at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Bernard was born in Gloucester and attended Upton St Leonards primary school, where he excelled in football, representing Gloucestershire Schools and playing for the local team, Tredworth Tigers. His talent led him to join Birmingham’s Academy at the age of 12.
At Birmingham, Bernard quickly stood out, captaining the under-18 team by the 2014/15 Pre-Season. He played a crucial role in their 2014/15 Birmingham Senior Cup win and was soon rewarded with his first professional contract.
In the 2018/19 season, Bernard joined Aldershot Town on loan and became a regular starter, earning Player of the Month for January 2019. After leaving Birmingham in 2019, Bernard signed with Forest Green Rovers, where he quickly established himself as a reliable defender. His consistent play earned him a contract extension, and he remained a key player for the club until his release at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Catch Dom Bernard in action next at Huish Park on 10th September as the Glovers host Solihull Moors.
