To say that March started with a bang is perhaps a major understatement as the Glovers headed to The Majeski Stadium to take on high flying Reading. The ended in a 1-1 draw but hardly told the full story.

Yeovil took the lead in the 20th. minute when Shane Duffy headed in a Luke Ayling free kick allbeit against the run of play slightly.

The second half was probably best called The Siege of The Alamo as Reading hit back hard. Their cause was helped by Byron Webster when he gave away a penalty and suffered the fate of a red card to boot.

Le Fondre scored from the spot. The siege continued and minutes later Yeovil suffered more problems when Joe Ralls got a straight red for a file on Drenthe. So nine men to defend an almost unstoppable force.

As Marek Stech performed miracles Kieffer Moore didn’t and he too got his marching orders for a second yellow.

With seven minutes of added time seven minutes, yes seven minutes were awarded but somehow the Glovers held on for more than just a well earned point. That game was what miracles are made of!!

Naturally after withstanding that sort of siege the team were somewhat more confident facing Sheffield Wednesday with a complete team and a goal from Ishmael Miller in each half saw The Glovers home for three very important points.

With eight games scheduled for the month next up Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich were the visitors but in a pretty sterile game the visitors went away with all the points after a first half goal from Berra.

Saturday and we were all up to the Bush, Shepherd’s Bush! Queen’s Park Rangers lay in wait desperately needing points themselves as they desperately tried to stay in the play-off positions.

Two goals from Ravel Morrison, one in injury time and a stunner from Bobby Zamora were more than enough to emphasis the financial gap that existed between the two clubs.

Many went into the next match fearing the worst with Wigan on a run of wins and they duly went in front through Nick Powell after 56 minutes.

Ishmael Miller equalised in the 82nd. minute and then put Yeovil into an unlikely lead three minutes later.

That only lasted for three minutes and James McArthur equalised for Wigan and then in injury time Byron Webster somehow headed past Stech to put Wigan back in front.

But Yeovil were not dead yet and as Stech came up for a corner Luke Ayling managed to prod home to earn yet another point

Bolton the visitors at home expectations were high. At half time that confidence was well founded as Yeovil miraculous away point.

Confidence was beginning to grow and with went in 2-0 up thanks to goals from Miller and Kevin Dawson.

Bolton pulled one back through Jutkiewicz but then had Baptiste sent off as The Glovers were awarded a penalty after discussions between the referee and his assistant.

Up stepped Ishmael Miller but he blasted against the post for his second miss of the season. It was to prove costly when Zat Knight equalised in the 83rd. minute and yet another 2 points were dropped from a winning position.

Confidence might have been high but the prospect of an away match against table toppers Leicester City was daunting.

But against all odds Yeovil went in front through a Joe Ralls free kick in the 22nd. minute.

More surprisingly though they held on until the 93rd. when they were cruelly robbed of a victory by a goal from Kasper Schmeichel. Yes Schmeichel, the goal keeper!!

It felt like a defeat although it was a very well earned point.

As if that wasn’t bad enough The Glovers just didn’t turn up against their next opponents Barnsley. In a must win match they capitulated 4-1 in an awful display.

It was 0-0 at half time but only a solitary late goal from Luke Ayling added some self respect to the score line.
