Below is a copy of the letter sent to all parents with children in the Yeovil Town FC Academy from Operations Manager kelly Roberts:
‘In wake of recent news regarding safeguarding in Football, we feel it to be of utmost importance to write to you in relation to your son’s footballing programme whilst they are here at Yeovil Town FC Academy.
Yeovil Town FC Academy continues to be committed to ensuring all necessary steps are taken to protect all our footballers across the age groups from harm who participate within this sport. This letter, together with the safeguarding policy sets out our approach to safeguarding.
At Yeovil Town FC Academy all Coaches undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service(DBS) check, previously known as a CRB and attend and complete the Safeguarding Course provided by the F.A before they commence working with your children.
Should you feel at risk or concerned then please do not hesitate to contact myself, Kelly Roberts (Welfare Officer) 01935 847880 ext 270.
May I remind you that the parents evening on Monday 19th December is the last session before Christmas and we will be returning on Wednesday 11th January 2017 as per our timetable.
Yours Faithfully,
Kelly Roberts
Operations Manager’
