On loan defender Ryan Inniss has settled straight into life in Somerset and believes Yeovil are only “half a yard” from building momentum in League One.

The Crystal Palace central defender arrived a little over a week ago and completed both games against Swindon and Sheffield United, and admits the players are demanding more from each other.

“Rochdale are doing okay, I’m keeping my eye on the league, but for us it will be another scalp and I feel we are one of the bigger and better teams in the league and we’ve just hit a patch. We’re going to start again on Saturday and pick ourselves up.

“I’m a big believer in momentum in football. You see teams go on runs and it could go down to a saved penalty or scoring a penalty and I think we’re just half a yard away from it at the moment.

“Once we start finding a few goals, we’re defending okay at the moment, but I think as a group we can give that little bit more and that’s what we’re drilling in to each other, and we’re going to demand a lot more from each other and give the fans what they deserve.”

The 19-year-old Londoner is enjoying the opportunity to focus purely on football in the South West, and already feels part of the squad at Huish Park.

“I felt alright straight away, the lads welcomed me and the gaffer is great and obviously Terry and Darren have been great but I think once you perform and do okay the lads welcome you even more because they realise you are part of the group.

“But I think in terms of commitment if you give 100% commitment the lads will know you’re there to fight the cause because we are in a difficult position. But there was no trouble getting to know the lads, it’s a tight knit group and they’re all a good bunch of lads.

“It’s quite funny actually because my mate Mitch Brundle used to be here and he said to me ‘you might find yourself not bored as such but struggling to find things to do’ but for me on the pitch I’m quite loud and outgoing but I enjoy the quiet things.

“I’ve just moved in 20 minutes away and I enjoy cooking for myself and I’m in with Jordy Hiwula at the moment so it’s nice and chilled out so I can keep my head on the football.”
