Yeovil Town regret to announce the death of former manager Glyn Davies on February 7th Aged 80 years old.
Glyn signed for Derby County for whom he made 213 appearances between 1953 and 1961.
In early 1964 following the departure of Basil Hayward, Davies was appointed player manager of Yeovil Town at the age of 31. His tenure as manager lasted for just one year for the 1964-65 season.
He left Yeovil Town in to return to Swansea following a short spell at the club that saw him make 23 appearances as a player, scoring 5 goals preferring to manage rather than play for a large part of his time at Huish.
Davies went on to manage Swansea during the 1965-1966 season when they won the Welsh Cup for the fifth time.
Glyn’s funeral will take place at Swansea Crematorium this Wednesday at 3.00 pm where there will be family flowers only.
