In an evenly-contested opening 45 minutes it was the Yeovil who looked the more likely to open the scoring with a succession of dangerous corners.
But it was the Lionesses who took the lead into half time after a dubious free kick was awarded which the Yeovil defence and goalkeeper didn’t deal with.
The Yeovil keeper came for a deep free-kick only for Fliss Gibbons to get to the ball first and loop a header into the empty net after 43 minutes.
After the break Yeovil pushed in search of an equaliser and came close just before the hour mark when both Nicola Cousins and Sarah Wiltshire were denied by the woodwork in quick succession.
But Yeovil and Wiltshire weren’t to be denied for long as after great work by debutant Jessie Jones, she pulled a low cross back, which Heatherson left for the on rushing Wiltshire, who emphatically fired it home from just inside the box.
Both sides came close to stealing victory at the death as first Yeovil’s Annie Heatherson had a goal ruled out for offside before Lucy Loomes’ effort was saved well by Haynes at the other end as both teams shared the spoils at Huish Park.
