Yeovil Town were held by Taunton Town in a drab 0-0 draw at Huish Park.
After Taunton had the better of Yeovil in the first half, Chris Hargreaves’ side improved in the second, but were unable to find that elusive goal.
That means the Green & Whites will travel to Wordsworth Drive on Tuesday evening.
There was just one change to the Glovers side. Lawson D’Ath missed out through injury, so he was replaced by Morgan Williams.
It was a slow start from a Yeovil perspective, with Taunton creating more chances in the opening exchanges.
The wide areas were Yeovil’s best outlet in the first half. On 22 minutes Sam Pearson looked for Morgan Williams who overran the Bristol City loanees’ cross despite being unmarked.
The Glovers’ best chance of the half fell with ten to go. Another excellent cross from Pearson was met by the skipper Josh Staunton who headed wide. Minutes later, Sam Perry picked out at the far post, but he couldn’t get a clean connection on his effort.
Needing a spark, the second half saw Yeovil improve, creating far more chances but unable to convert any of them.
With just two minutes of the half played, Williams span his marker and forced an excellent save from the Taunton goalkeeper.
Wakefield was Yeovil’s brightest spark in the second half, and had the golden chance to win the game beyond the hour mark. Pearson dragged the ball to the edge of the six-yard box, but Wakefield fired his tame effort wide.
Not letting his miss get to him, Wakefield took the onus on himself two minutes later and shot narrowly wide from distance.
Substitutes also made a difference for Town, with Alex Fisher proving a handful for the Taunton defenders.
Despite late pressure, goalless was how it finished with Yeovil Town now travelling to Taunton Town on Tuesday night.
