Yeovil Town drew 2-2 with Solihull Moors after a barnstorming game at the ARMCO Arena.
Falling two goals behind in the first half, the Glovers showed fighting spirit to bounce back and secure a point thanks to goals from Zanda Siziba and Owen Bevan.
In truth, Town left the Midlands disappointed not to claim three points, having spurned a number of chances in the second half.
The hosts set the tempo early on, with much of the play in the Yeovil half. It took just six minutes for them to have a chance. Jack Stevens broke into the box and forced Will Buse to turn the ball wide for the first save of his league debut.
From the resulting corner, the ball swung to the back-post and met by Solihull skipper Callum Howe, who struck the upright.
With just over 20 minutes gone, Solihull struck a deserved lead. Former Maidenhead United man Kelly had the freedom of the penalty area to pick his spot beyond Buse for the opener.
A matter of moments later, it would quickly be two for Solihull. After a handball in the box, Kelly stepped up and converted from the spot.
Mark Cooper, who was serving a touchline ban, turned to his bench after the second goal, taking off Max Hunt for Andrew Oluwabori. The Posh loanee did add some attacking intent, looking to drive at his opponent on a number of occasions.
At the break, Cooper made his final two changes, with Reo Griffiths and Siziba introduced to the action. Siziba looked to make an instant impact, as 30 seconds into the half, he sent a teasing cross into the box which couldn’t find a Yeovil man.
Less than ten minutes into the half, the two of them combined to hand Town a lifeline. Griffiths drove down the line and dropped the ball into Siziba’s feet to slam the ball home.
As the half grew on, Town continued to mount pressure. Malachi Linton worked some good shooting opportunities which were snuffed out by Ryan Boot in goal for Solihull.
Knocking on the door, the Glovers struck the post with 73 minutes played. Charlie Cooper caught the Moors completely off guard, but his clever free-kick struck the upright.
With 83 minutes gone, Yeovil got the deserved equaliser in superb fashion. A fantastic strike from Bevan clawed the Glovers level after he picked up Staunton’s blocked strike to set up a grandstand finish at the ARMCO Arena.
Both sides did hunt for a winner, but ultimately level was how it would finish, leaving Town needing to win all three of their games for any hope of National League survival.
