Joe Quigley paid tribute to Yeovil Town’s performance packed with quality and resilience following their 3-1 win over Dover Athletic at Huish Park.
The Glovers returned to winning ways in magnificent fashion as a brace from Joe Quigley either side of half time, alongside a late strike from Rhys Murphy rounded off an impressive victory in the National League for Darren Sarll’s side.
After a disappointing display against Maidenhead United in midweek, the green and whites showed spirit, stretching their fine run to 5 wins in 7 since the turnover of the new year and Quigley was full of praise for Town’s performance on Saturday afternoon.
“I’m delighted with the brace, but three points were the most important thing for us today, he told BBC Somerset post-match.
“The three points were the main aim for the team from minute one and I think to bounce back like we did from Wednesday shows the character that we’ve got amongst the squad.
“I think when you go one goal down and then get an equaliser just before half-time gives everyone a lift, which resulted in us finishing the half strongly. After that I thought we grew and grew in confidence and finished the second half even stronger.
“I think we have had a big turnround since the new year. Winning five of our last seven games shows the resilience and quality that we’ve got in the squad, and I don’t think many teams will be on this type of form right now.
“The break over the last few weeks hasn’t helped our momentum, but to respond like we did from Wednesday shows just how good we can be as a team.
“We’ve just got to kick on from this now and remain focused ahead of our next game.
