Yeovil Town are back in SkyBet League One action this coming Saturday as the Glovers host Fleetwood Town at Huish Park.
As usual, it’s a 3pm kick off on Saturday, but unlike other home games, Glovers fans can take advantage of the pre-match price right up until 1pm.
That means the reduced prices, that normally go off sale the night before can be taken up until 1pm.
Tickets can be purchased in all the usual ways; by clicking HERE and buying online, calling the ticket office or in person.
With the extended offer and the likelihood of extra people heading to Huish Park in the run up to kick off, please allow suitable collection time on match day.
Looking towards the fixture and Yeovil are coming off the back of two clean sheets and a win in the FA Cup first round.
The 0-0 draw with Chesterfield and the 1-0 win over Crawley have suggested that defensive frailties might have been taken care of, while a midweek county cup win over non-league Hengrove Athletic will certainly have boosted the striker’s confidence.
Any 13-0 win is positive, but with many of the first team involved in the match squad, it’s hoped that the feeling of seeing the ball hit the back of the net, regardless of opposition, will be transferable to the league campaign.
Jordy Hiwula backed up his first senior goal at the weekend with a hat-trick, James Hayter’s career goal tally also jumped up by three. Sam Foley and Ajay Leitch Smith also benefitted as did James Berrett with a delightful free kick.
Fleetwood on the other hand have not exactly been in the best of form, they crashed out of the FA Cup at the hands of Cambridge United – former Glovers loanee Kwesi Appiah doing the damage – and have lost no fewer than six in a row in league matches away from home.
The Cod Army are tenth in the league but the contrast between home and away form is quite something; at home, they’re unbeaten all season with four wins and four draws.
However, on the road they have won just twice and those were way back in August, since then they’ve made journeys to Oldham, Peterborough, Preston, Colchester, Crawley and MK Dons and come back with absolutely nothing.
In terms of the league table, a win for Yeovil could see them climb no fewer than five places and out of the relegation zone.
Fleetwood would not only arrest that alarming away form, but could put themselves within a point of the play off spots with a victory.
In terms of team news, Gary Johnson has admitted that Kieffer Moore may be given an extended period of time to recover from injury after he broke down in the draw away at Chesterfield.
Also, Yeovil currently have six loanees on the books, one will have to miss out due to Football League rules.
Fleetwood have this week loaned out defender Liam Hogan to Macclesfield and have brought in MK Dons striker Tom Hitchcock.
Saturday’s fixture is also the first of a three game suspension for Jamie Proctor, he came on a substitute at the weekend, but still managed to beat his teammates back to the changing room after seeing red.
Both sides will be without one international star as well. Northern Irish defender Conor Mclaughlin is out for the away side with Jamaican winger Joel Grant missing for the Glovers.
The only previous meetings between the two clubs don’t make pretty reading for the Glovers fans, the 2011 FA Cup second round fixtures were played out in front of the ESPN cameras and it didn’t go well for Yeovil.
Despite being 2-0 up away at Highbury, the Cod army forced a replay. In the return leg Terry Skiverton’s men imploded and lost 2-0 crashing out of the cup to a then non-league outfit.
By my reckoning, the Glovers probably owe Fleetwood one for those FA Cup games and so if you want to be at Huish Park, you can be.
Remember, the pre-match discount now applies right up until 1pm on match day, so you can get the reduced price for you and your family and friends right now.
There are also offers available for half-season tickets and pre-match hospitality all of which can be booked with the ticket office.
If you’re not available to be at Huish Park, don’t worry, the game will be on Glovers Player and the highlights will be on YouTube on Sunday.
