Yeovil Town return to Huish Park on Tuesday (7:45pm) evening, with a National League clash against Aldershot Town.
After a defeat on the road, the Glovers will be hoping home comforts will be the boost they need, having kept back-to-back clean sheets whilst playing at home.
It’s been a busy week in the Aldershot camp, with manager Mark Molesley departing, the Shots followed up with a victory over York at the weekend.
Chris Hargreaves thoughts
The boss last spoke to the media after Saturday’s defeat to Oldham.
“Every game is a big game in this league, because every team is competitive.
“I get that the fans are frustrated and that there’s unrest, but myself, the players & staff thank the fans for coming.”
Team news
Matt Worthington will return to the squad after serving his one-game suspension for accumulating 5 yellow cards.
After making his first appearance from the bench, Ollie Hulbert will be hoping for continued involvement with the Glovers squad.
On the injury front, Charlie Wakefield missed out on Saturday’s trip to Oldham, but there is yet to be confirmation that he can play on Tuesday night.
What’s on at Huish Park?
The Alec Stock Lounge will open to supporters from 6pm.
This week’s community hero is Monica Hayden of Merriott. She is widely known locally for her connections with Merriott Youth Football Club and also the Yeovil and District Youth Mini League.
Monica and her husband Dave started Merriott Youth back in 1986 with Monica holding the role as secretary which she still holds now along with being the clubs welfare officer.
Monica joined the Yeovil Youth League committee in 1991 and is still a member to this day. She has also held the roles of welfare officer, fixture secretary and also registration office for the Youth League.
A foot in the opposition camp
Last week, Aldershot parted company with manager Mark Molesley after a disappointing start to the season. Many of the current Aldershot squad played for Molesley within his promotion winning Weymouth side.
Last weekend, the new-look Aldershot managed in the interim by Terry Brown, beat York 2-1 at the EBB Stadium. Brown previously managed the Shots from 2002-2007 before taking the managers job at AFC Wimbledon. He returned to Aldershot last year as a member of Molesley’s coaching staff.
Have we met before?
The Glovers have endured mixed results against the Shots since dropping into the National League.
The most memorable of the bunch came in September 2019 as Darren Sarll’s side won 3-1 against the Shots at the EBB Stadium.
Most recently, Yeovil lost 2-0 to Aldershot in April last season. Two quick fire goals from Ryan Glover & Giles Phillips separated the two sides.
Tickets
Tickets for the game can be purchased from the online ticket office until 4:45pm on match day for physical tickets.
Following this, they can be purchased in person from the ticket office, however this is subject to a small price increased. We strongly recommend getting to Huish Park early to avoid queues.
